Shipping Carton Selection: Start with Product Weight, Dimensions and the Route

ARBONYXPACK · Shipping carton briefs

A shipping carton is selected around the packed product and route. Outside dimensions alone do not describe the usable space, board construction or protection required.

Measure the complete contents

Record product and accessory dimensions, packed weight and orientation. Include inserts, dividers or cushioning when calculating the required internal space. Identify parts that must not carry load or contact the carton wall.

Describe distribution

Explain whether the pack travels as an individual parcel, on pallets or through a mixed distribution network. Add stacking, handling and humidity conditions relevant to the route. These details help define the board and structural requirements to review.

Specify the construction

Give internal dimensions, box style, flute or board requirements where known, closure and print. Set measurable strength or transport criteria with the responsible packaging team where required. A familiar box appearance is not a substitute for a defined construction.

Check packing and dispatch

Assemble a sample with the real product and inner protection. Record packing time, closure and handling, then carry out the agreed evaluation. Add flat-pack quantities, carton marks and pallet requirements to the quotation so the supply format fits your operation.
