Paper Bag Size and Handle Choice: Test the Complete Takeaway Order

ARBONYXPACK · Paper bag dimensions

A paper bag is sized around the complete purchase, not one container. Width, gusset and height need to accommodate the packed order and allow the bag to close or be carried as intended.

Build a representative order

Arrange the normal containers, drinks and accessories together. Measure the footprint and height of the packed group. Include the largest common combination and any contents with sharp edges. These measurements give a useful starting point for the bag’s internal space.

Choose the handle and bottom

Specify the handle type and expected load. Review the handle attachment, bottom construction and any reinforcement using a filled sample. A larger bag may create more room without providing the strength needed for the heavier order.

Try normal handling

Fill the proposed bag and use the normal carrying and handover method. Check opening access, handle comfort and whether the contents shift. Include moisture exposure if it occurs in the service. Record the load and handling conditions used for approval.

Prepare a clear bag specification

Give width, gusset and height, paper weight, handle details, reinforcement and print coverage. Add quantities by design and carton packing. A photograph of the complete order in an existing bag can help explain the required change.
