Certifications & Product Documents

Request the specification and supporting documents for the packaging you intend to order. The item, material, manufacturing site and intended use determine which records are relevant. Include destination-market requirements in the inquiry so the document package can be matched to the order.

FSC: traceable forest-based materials

For an FSC sourcing requirement, check the certificate holder, current status and covered product groups in the official database. The order documentation should show the applicable sourcing claim. Food-contact and compostability evidence are reviewed separately.

Compostability: check the product and environment

Compostability documents identify a defined product or material and a treatment environment. Check the exact item in the BPI catalog where applicable. TÜV AUSTRIA separates industrial and home composting schemes; use the scheme shown on the product certificate when planning disposal instructions.

Food-contact evidence follows intended use

Food-contact documentation needs to match the food and exposure conditions. Tell us whether the pack will contact hot, chilled, oily or acidic food, and for how long. Include microwave or freezer use when relevant. Review the regulatory basis and supporting test scope for the selected construction, including any coating or lining.

Request the document package for your item

Send the product list and the records required by your purchasing team. Useful details include certificate or report number, holder, issuer, product scope, test conditions and validity. Keep those records with the final specification and quotation for the supplied item.
