Compare usable serving area as well as outside diameter. The rim and depth should leave room for the normal portion, while the filled plate needs to suit the way it is carried and served.

Plate specification

Include diameter, depth, rim profile, fiber construction and item weight where specified. Add food type, serving temperature, contact time and filled portion weight to the sample brief.

Catering order requirements

Give quantities by size, inner-pack and carton requirements, and delivery country. Assess samples with the same meal and handling method so proposed constructions can be compared. Keep the accepted sample and inspection criteria with the order.
